ABC Daytime elevates Barone

ABC has named Randall Barone programming and development veep of daytime, where he will oversee programming and development for vet "The View" and debutante "The Chew." Barone will report to Disney/ABC daytime prexy Brian Frons. Barone had already been working for the past 1 1/2 years with "Chew" exec producer Gordon Elliot and Follow Prods. on "The Chew," which launched last week in place of longtime soap "All My Children." Barone's ABC roots date back to when he was senior supervising producer in charge of special projects for "Good Morning America" from 1990-1998. He also was senior supervising producer of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" from 1998-99, before returning to ABC and then being named in 2000 creative executive in charge of "The View."
