Halloween got an earlier start Monday evening as horror fans arrived on the scene for Universal's premiere of "The One Thing" at Universal City Walk. Prior to the screening, helmer Eli Roth and rocker Marilyn Manson were seen speaking shop with Platinum Dunes executives Kaira Larger and Andrew Form. Following the premiere, visitors relived the film at Universal Studio's haunted maze, a duplicate in the pic, before going to Jillian's Arcade for that afterparty, in which the frightening preamble did not place the film's star, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, off taking pleasure in a slice of pizza. "Factor" director Matthijs van Heijningen Junior. stated he wanted his version to become not the same as the Howard Hawks-created 1951 pic, but loved the original's feeling of claustrophobia. "I will always be keen on isolated thrillers, as well as in a movie such as this, you're searching using the figures, which really enables the crowd to seem like they're an element of the film," he stated. Also seen making the models were "Breaking Bad's" Aaron Paul and director Peter Berg. Contact Justin Kroll at justin.kroll@variety.com
